Why 'typical of experts in his field'? Rather than place this type of observation in, why not look at the data used to make such sex differentiated statements? Would be even more fascinating to hear how research is developing to look at different facets of gender, then sex and age, noting changes across societies, the norms expected or otherwise being used to look at performance
