This needs to be contextualised - remembering listening to Irish people talking about how they used to go to underpasses so they could be loud and do things they could not do in their street becuase of the pressures in meeting community norms imposed by societal pressures to conform. Virtual relaity takes on different manifestations well beyond the tech elements
Personally worked in humanitarian settings where every move was watched and assessed - the 'virtual reality' undertaken when stepping away from this was detrimental to my health in all shapes and forms
