The creation of archetypes fits well with how politicians have been simplistic and sought plurality - ie, if we do this then this will happen. If we don't do this then this will happen. Good and evil?

Where are considerations of speed with in directional change? The capability to assess how open systems can be fed to either accelerate (or decelerate) change - the issues of exponential change and 'seeing' how to 'organise' developments
