Thanks Mike - we are using design thinking on a couple of enterprise development projects where we crossing over cultural issues and want to break through hierarchy and linear approaches (Not a great believer in affirming mindset given right approaches we can all look to change mind and thinking).
Systems also creates images in people's minds and welcome to read how we can learn further in challenging those who think systems are all in set structures rather than the broader connotations as look at open and closes systems with a systems thinking perspective.
Just been looking at establishing local economic networks, referring people to Richard Normann's work and how to diagnose, with key stakeholders, how the different elements fit/work/interact together, how to build in feedback loops and build a learning culture.
Wider management thinking coming in here - also drawing in some of the Oxford Futures Forum thinking - take a look at Lucy Kimbell's work and Rafael Ramirez's lead on fitting approaches and tools together.
We will be in-touch through the Dutch side of our organisation working in to the complexity (and complications noting James' points below) of doing business, developing social enterprises, in Somaliland, the greater Horn of Africa.
