My information management professor at Henley Business School taught us DIDA

Data - collect and collate. What do we need to know? Want to know? Are capable of collecting and rationalising?

Information - how do we extract what we need from the data collected? What is required rather than what it is nice to get?

Decision - the data into information informs decision making processors: machine or human.

Action - what actions result from the D->I->D DID, so we have DIDA.

I would add, after learning building on Chambers work, one other piece.
