I had a gentleman work with me on a rather stressful piece of work where we were delivering for 3 different international organisations. At the end of a long day, he told me he had taught himself to savour the first sip. Then he knew the beer or the glass of wine was it. No more. Fantastic fortitude and mind control to savour and stop taking the playing it forward to the nth degree.

I imagine his psyche / physical make-up was just so strong he could handle the wider stressors we faced. A great person to have as part of the team and taught me much in Stoical processes as well as knowing yourself.
