Enough is a decision — Not an amount.

Life comes at us — Fast!

So what does this mean? Life comes at us fast? The use of exclamation is something we seem to have shifted from the Kerpow! of the comic book to other writings where it is there for some dramatism.

Does life come at us fast, or fast! Or do we enter into the next steps of our lives at a pace set by ourselves, our nature and upbringing? Or circumstances emerging?

Fast is speed and speed dictated by capability to move. Speed is regularly interchanged with velocity but even basic secondary education physics differentiates speed from velocity.

Speed is the time rate at which an object is moving along a path, while velocity is the rate and direction of an object’s movement.

Lifted directly from britannica.com. Another narrative to be developed as MLM and AI models are used to generate pieces but, regularly, the references as to how the pyramid of knowledge is added to becomes lost (while the byline of the writer, writer or should this become instigator?, gains prominence). The object could well be you, me or the person we seek to influence

Does life come at us or do we travel through circumstances to make our lives? Sounds a bit deep, the point being whilst doing yoga using the Nike Training Club app, the title of this piece resonated with me.

Enough is a decision. Not an amount.

We all can take decisions — some make and take decisions better than others; however, we all take decisions. Many of us live to regret decisions taken or foisted on us by circumstances, the basic tenet is there; we all take decisions.

Back to velocity rather than speed alone. Having direction in our lives changes how decision points arrive with us. Not moving at headlong speed into situations without knowing where we are headed is tantamount to running toward the edge of the cliff. Few of us have Wyle E Coyote’s skilled support to trot away from making a dust cloud at the bottom of a long fall.

Thanks to Looney Tunes for continued life lessons on speed and velocity

Decision points arrive with us? Or we see, feel, sense and intuit the decisions points to come and decide — Enough.

Take a decision.

Change direction.

Change speed.

This will be based on data. Hard data and all the soft feelings and intuitions we collect and collate consciously and subconsciously. It is a decision however.

Whether we continue moving, fast or slow!, through life depends on our aptitude and attitude to taking decisions — Enough is a decision not an amount.

§ Deliberate set of questions and points to prompt interaction as return to previous work seeking, now, to develop thinking and actions on management and leadership where decisions, decision points, are critical ingredients of who we are and how we shape ourselves and those around us.
