Another opinion from another of us without the technical knowledge. I have opinions (but a smaller audience) but sense we need to place these moments of outrage into proportion.

HIV/AIDs has not been wiped out - this reflects the opinionated view of a very North American centric person (who is then extrapolating and interpolating onto a Global stage). Come to East Africa and the rise of HIV/AIDs has commenced again - Behavioural change was not embedded and we are witnessing risk taking behaviours rise in another generation.

We have witnessed Ebola as well as MERS - each time the industrial complex that is (still post WWII) the aid and development industry marketing responses to the here and now problems to perpetuate the Leviathan organisations.

We listen to them now marketing $20 for covid vaccines and all and all. Quietly not saying their half century of 'capacity development' has not built capacity in health systems so give us the $20 and we will, once more, respond to this crisis.

Umair, return to your themes looking at the disjoint between politics, responsibility and accountability and we will reinforce how any number of governments no longer do anything beyond appeal to their core, popularist, agendas.

From each according to their ability to exploit. To each according to their ability to link with those exploiting. And masking the exploitation in the language of popularism.
